{Business Meeting || Anya & Ian}

itsanyasidorovna:

The chances of her getting the job were slim. She had no dance training and certainly no experience with poles. Anya couldn’t even comprehend how the dancers were able to defy gravity when they moved around on the pole. She was tempted just to apologize and leave his office. ‘No, what’s there to lose?’ she thought to herself. Anya took a deep breath in and walked further into his office.

“No, no, I’m fine, thank you,” she replied with a grateful smile. She couldn’t believe that she was doing this right now. Her head nodded as she slid into the seat, casually taking a look around his office. An office - ah, now that would have been a nice place to have to work in. Unfortunately, it appeared as if Anya’s options for jobs would be destined to entertain men in some shape or form.

Anya folded her hands together in her lap as she tried to look professional even though she definitely felt silly. “My last name?” she repeated a bit nervously. She had always avoided telling people her last name unless it was absolutely crucial, just in case they came looking for her again. “Sidorovna. Anya Sidorovna,” answered Anya hesitantly in a quiet voice. “Oh, okay,” she nodded with a timid smile as she fiddled with her fingers. “Let’s hope you’re right,” she muttered aloud without realizing that she had until after her sentence was finished. Anya quickly laughed sheepishly to try and cover it up. “Just kidding,” she added, giving herself a mental face palm.

“Anya Sidorovna, definitely Russian then.” Ian nodded with a smile, trying to loosen her up a little, she looked overly tense. He could see why, obviously, hardly any of the girls he had in here for interviews were exactly comfortable, but he could tell that she had something to hide. Which… well, could be a problem for him. He was already taking a big risk by asking her in to try out, especially when he was already pretty sure that he would get her some kind of job anyway.

“I know that it’s probably not something you want to talk about, but one of the most important factors for me is the safety of my girls at the club. I need to know if there’s someone you’re hiding from and please don’t lie to me.” Even as he said the word please it was blatantly not a plea, he was a very controlled man with his fingers in a lot of different pies. He wanted to help her, sure… but it all came back to professional balance again.

{Business Meeting || Anya & Ian}

itsanyasidorovna:

The people she met online had all been rather pleasant which surprised Anya. She had no idea why she even started blogging, but she had and new connections were made for her that were beneficial. One of those people was Ian Hunter. They hadn’t chatted for long before she had to go meet a customer, but it was long enough for him to offer her a job as a stripper at his club. It wasn’t the most ideal job, but surely it was better than selling her body to random guys on the streets or wherever she met them. At least if she was a stripper she’d be in a contained area with bouncers located outside if anything were to happen.

His offer was tempting, but Anya knew that she was no dancer. She barely had the coordination to walk sometimes, but it was worth a try wasn’t it? Besides, even if she was unsuccessful, it wouldn’t hurt for her to try and be on speaking terms with someone as successful as Ian. Not to mention that she could try and coax him into buying her, even though she had a feeling that wouldn’t happen. It was all about taking a risk, and that was exactly what Anya intended on doing.

When she arrived at Lace and Leather in a black dress that hugged her body, she was slowly directed to Ian’s office. The club wasn’t too busy yet, but that’s what she liked. Overcrowded places brought memories of the brothels she used to be in and that was something she hated to think about. Anya peered into Ian’s office with a sheepish smile. “Oh no, thank you. I’m actually not much of a drinker,” she replied quietly. The confidence she wore when she was speaking to customers was not apparent now. It was simply because a prostitute wasn’t who she truly was and maybe this was her chance to escape.

He smiled at the girl as she walked in, hoping that he would be able to help her out, and it would be a good investment from a business side of things, anyway. They were a dancer down since the murder and he had to fill her space at some point, he’d already left it long enough. The girl was attractive, obviously knew how to get money out of men and if he was helping her out in the process what was wrong with that? It wasn’t as if he was going to get girls whose dream was to be a stripper, that just didn’t happen.

“Fair enough, I can get you something else if you’d like, just ask.” He put his drink down on the desk and gestured towards one of the chairs opposite it. “Sit, please.” He leaned against the mahogany desk and waited for her to comply. He would have to audition her in some way, and of course he’d have to have the choreographer see if she was a decent investment, if not he could have her tend the bar while she learnt.

“I didn’t catch your last name, Anya…?” He hesitated, wanting to know what her name was before he did anything. “Obviously I’ll have to ask for a few details, all procedure, but don’t worry, nothing too evasive.”  He knew that people had their secrets in New York, he didn’t make a habit of telling people about his past but he was far from ashamed of it.

I guess introductions are in order.

william-ezra:

It’s rather enjoyable. A very nice ride if I do say so myself. And it is highly enjoyable. You should certainly join me for a ride someday.

I’m glad to hear it, maybe I will, I have a few ideas for the club I’d like to run by you.

I guess introductions are in order.

william-ezra:

Ian. Of course.

I’ve been meaning to speak to you actually, how is the new car? Enjoyable?

I guess introductions are in order.

william-ezra:

William. William Ezra. But I’m pretty sure you knew that already.

Will, a pleasure as usual.
